The Alzheimer Knowledge Exchange (AKE) supports those interested in improving the Ontario system of care for persons with Alzheimer Disease & Related Dementias (ADRD). It facilitates the exchange of information, innovation and expertise among caregivers, educators, researchers and policy-makers by connecting people to knowledge expertise; connecting people to resources; connecting people to ideas; and connecting innovations to practice.

are dedicated to serving all residents in the South East region. This

| Champlain Local Health Integration Network
Champlain LHIN is one of Ontario’s 14 Local Health Integration Networks. LHINs were established in 2005 to help communities manage, plan and improve health care in their region. They will create a network of health service providers – from community volunteer organizations to nursing homes to health agencies to clinics to hospitals – that will integrate health care delivery. In the end, LHINs will improve both access to health care and the quality of care itself. This will help close gaps in care that could occur as people move from one part of the health system to another. It will also ensure that the local health system responds better to local needs.

Launched in 2009, the Champlainhealthline.ca lists over 3000

service listings describing organizations and programs serving people

in Ottawa, Renfrew county, Prescott and Russell, Stormont, Dundas
and Glengarry
and North Lanark and North Grenville. Users can choose to receive
local information
first or search the entire Champlain region. Events, News , long term
care homes
virtual tours, chronic disease self management resources, physical
activity
resources, dementia related services and Careers sections provide other
avenues
to much needed health and social services information.

The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) is the self-
regulating body for the province's medical profession. The College
regulates the practice of medicine to protect and serve the public
interest. It issues certificates of registration to doctors to allow them to
practise medicine, monitors and maintains standards of practice through
peer assessment and remediation, investigates complaints against
doctors on behalf of the public, and disciplines doctors who may have
committed an act of professional misconduct or incompetence.

| First Link™ Program
This program links individuals newly diagnosed with dementia and
their families to a community of learning, services and support. In
collaboration with the Champlain Dementia Network, First Link offers
information, support, referral and a progressive learning series. The
learning series include: First Steps, Next Steps, Care Essentials,
Options for Care, & Care in the Later Stages. Sessions are available in
French.

This clinic conducts research in Parkinson's and neurodegenerative
disorders. They offer training to pharmaceutical industry
representatives as well as to physicians interested in movement
disorders such as Parkinson's disease, tremor; also training in
neurodegenerative disorders such as dementia. Their medico-legal
consultation services include chart reviews, Independent Medical
Evaluations.
